Leather Jacket Size Guide
Choosing the right size is the most important part of buying a leather jacket. Use the chart below along with the steps on this page to find your fit. If you’re between sizes or want a perfect fit, we also offer custom made-to-measure sizing.
How to Measure Yourself
For the most accurate results, use a soft tailor’s measuring tape and wear a thin layer, like a t-shirt. Don’t measure over a bulky sweater or jacket. Ask someone to help if you can.
- Chest: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, under your armpits and across your shoulder blades. Keep it level and snug, but not tight.
- Shoulder: Measure straight across your back from the edge of one shoulder bone to the other.
- Sleeve length: With your arm slightly bent, measure from the shoulder edge down to your wrist bone.
- Waist: Measure around your natural waistline, the narrowest part of your torso.
- Jacket length: Measure from the base of your neck (where the collar sits) down to where you want the jacket to end.
- Hips (for women’s styles): Measure around the fullest part of your hips.
Tip: Measure twice to be sure, and write the numbers down.
How to Use the Size Chart
- Compare your measurements with the chart above.
- If your measurements fall between two sizes, choose the larger size for a relaxed fit or if you plan to layer, and the smaller size for a close, tailored fit.
- Leather jackets are usually worn fitted. Check that you can move your arms and shoulders freely.
- Remember that the chart shows body measurements, and styles with a slim cut may fit closer.
Fit Tips
- Biker and moto jackets are designed to fit close to the body, so don’t size up unless you plan to wear heavy layers.
- Coats and long styles need extra room in the chest and shoulders to sit well over layers.
- Suede and lambskin can feel slightly snug at first and soften with wear.
- Layering: If you often wear a hoodie or sweater under your jacket, consider sizing up.
